The ponytail palm, also known as elephant’s foot, is a striking succulent tree with a bulbous trunk and long, ribbon-like leaves resembling a ponytail. Native to Mexico, it’s low-maintenance, thriving in bright, indirect light with infrequent watering. Ideal for both indoor and outdoor ornamental use, it adds a unique touch to any space.

  • Grows to a 6 feet tall indoors
  • Large: between 12″ to 16″ tall from the soil to the top of the plant. Planted in a 10″ wide nursery pot.

Care Guide

  • Light: Does best in bright direct or indirect light. Avoid low light conditions.
  • Water: Water when the soil is completely dry, remove any excess water that accumulates at the base of the pot.
  • Note: Can be placed outside in the summer, bring indoors when temperatures are below 15°C
  • Ponytail Palms are non-toxic, so safe to have with pets and children.
  • Soft trunk: Overwatered.
  • Brown leaf tips: Over or underwatering, trim tips.
